The Special Powers
This year there are NINE Special Powers you must use between weeks 2 and 10. You will use all nine.
Note: In Week 6 YOU WILL PICK THE POWER YOUR OPPONENT USES AGAINST YOU, so prepare for this.
Powers for Weeks 1 through 10
BestBaller – You score this week like you’re playing a best ball league. Meaning, you don’t have to worry about who you start, the highest scoring players from each position will count whether they’re in your starting lineup or not. If you win ANYONE can be stolen from you. Still must be a same position swap but they can now swap a bench player for one of your starters. IF your opponent uses “Losers Rule” against your Best Baller, then Best Baller will automatically act as a WORST BALLER and your lowest scores will count.
DebbieDoubleDowner – You pick one player from your team that will get double points that week. If playing against “Losers Rule” you still have to double a player and it can not be your kicker.
Losers Rule – For this week you are trying to lose. If you score less than your opponent, it will count as a win for you and a loss for them. If you outscore them, it will count as a loss for you and a win for them. If you lose, meaning you technically win, then they will steal from you. So you will be able to protect some good players on your bench by using this.
Plunderer – This gives you two actions, 1) You can steal ONE player from your opponent for the week (you will give them a same position player in return) and then MUST START that player. Your opponent does not have to start the player you gave them. The player you steal will be returned after the game (as will the player you gave them) and then if you lose you WILL NOT be able to steal that player, and 2) You can also take UP TO TWO PLAYERS that are currently on waivers and add them to your team (tell me who you want) prior to the start of their game and at the latest prior to Sunday morning games. You will then have to drop a player (or two) to make room. If you want to start them that week they have to be in your lineup before their game starts. Remember, there will only be waivers after weeks 3, 6, and then 10 and beyond. If more than one team uses it on a given week then the lower ranked team picks first (record, points, head to head, div. record). So if you’re the worst team it’s a safer time to use it if you want to make sure you get your choice.
Quitter, I Just Met Her – For this week your opponent will set your lineup. They will tell you who to start and you will have to listen. They can not start teams that are on a bye.
ShotCaller – You guarantee a win and if you win YOU can steal ONE starter and ONE bench player from your opponent instead of them stealing one from you (both are same position for same position). If you lose the other team can either steal two starters OR they can steal up to four players from your bench (this can be any position swaps, do up to four random players for four random players). They can’t combo this, it’s either two starters or up to four bench, not a combo of both. Note: Versus ‘Losers Rule” you are going to have to try to lose in order for it to count as a win.
Stolen Valor – This week you will pick a team from the other division to “steal their score.” You can choose which team AFTER the powers are announced but it must be before any of their players start. Basically, you will score what they score regardless of what your team does. And if you win your opponent will still steal a player but by using this power you can start your scrubs since it won’t matter what they score thus safely hiding your best players on your bench. NOTE: You can not Steal the Valor of a team in the other division who is also Stealing Valor. Also, if two or more teams pick this the lower ranked team will choose a team first and then next lower ranked team will have to choose another team.
Subby – You can swap out ONE or TWO players from either or both of the Thurs or Sunday morning games for players who are playing in either the Sunday afternoon games or later. You must announce prior to the start of the new player’s game who your picks are. So you can swap any time before kick-off of your new player’s game. You won’t have to use this if you like your early scores but the power will be burnt either way. Best to use when most of your players play Sunday afternoon or later games.
DeezNuts – You change your opponent’s team name (they have to keep the name for the rest of the season unless someone else uses this power against them). You must announce the new name on by Thursday kick-off.
NEW SCORING OPPORTUNITY: Not in chart, but if your QB gets a tackle you’ll get 69 pts!
